[Vidéo] Bombino stopped by the offices of NPR Music in Washington, DC

Bombino stopped by the offices of NPR Music in Washington, DC, during the first leg of his US tour earlier this year, to perform a Tiny Desk Concert—the 300th episode in the series of intimate sets at the desk of All Songs Considered host Bob Boilen. He and his band perform three songs—”Tamiditine,” “Her Tenere,” and “Imuhar”—from his new album, Nomad.
Boilen, praising Bombino’s “fierce, hypnotic guitar playing” and “amazing jams,” also recognizes a “familiarity in his music stems from the blues,” with connections to Jimi Hendrix, and “a sense of simple, honest discovery that shows up in his smile as he plays.” You can read more of what Boilen has to say at npr.org and watch the performance below.
Bombino, currently touring Europe, will return to the States later that month to launch the next leg of his tour, which will extend into December. For details and tickets, visit the tour page.
